SoundHound x Apple Watch app, Android 2015

Context: Huge marketing and brand impact by launching with Apple Watch. SoundHound relied 100% on organic marketing – a testament to its loyal followers and ad related revenue stream. While the code was a variant of iOS, it was a completely new hardware profile - no way of testing or knowing what would work.

Objective: Provides users with an unobtrusive and discreet way to ID a song, favorite an artist, read lyrics, or send a song moment to a friend. Create an Apple Watch app available for download at Apple Watch’s debut that would engender “wow-factor” and increase user-base through Apple’s marketing exposure.

Requirements:  Development had to be done at Apple Labs in one week time. Very little information around capabilities, but an opportunity to pioneer a new design language for hardware and further evolve the product and brand elements. A mostly Flexible and Free undertaking!

Results: Delivered the watch app on launch day which resulted in app store and Apple retail store exposure through in-product demos. Significant increase in new users over the following months.
