Connecting the Ecosystem

QuickBooks 2020 - 2021

Director of Design

Objective: Simplify and showcase the value provided by the Quickbooks product ecosystem for our users. Define strategy and core capabilities that will serve-up the ecosystem to our users and accelerate our growth.

Requirements: Formalize a x-functional team (Product, Engineering, Marketing, Design) with the charter to accelerate ecosystem connectivity, while maintaining an excellent customer experience. This neutral and objective team is responsible for shaping inputs to enable technologies and governance for customer discovery.

The new team is to resolve issues with current product-specific capabilities that have vague accountability to serve-up the broader ecosystem, cause friction in decision-making, haphazard experimentation, duplicative and inefficient product and capability development, and disjointed go-to-market experiences.

Results: Collaborated with x-functional executive stakeholders to define charter, strategy, team and program that would connect-the-dots between 10+ product groups across Quickbooks ecosystem on web and mobile. Proposed and enabled Intuit’s Billing capability to be leveraged as a data source for customer intelligence gathering (purchases) as key insights to develop end-to-end customer experiences. These efforts culminated in developing targeted in-product-displays ads that generated an increase in 10% additional revenue per month by upsell / cross-sell / product feature and service promotions to existing customers. The team developed these features as shared services for the broader org, creating a unified platform for all product teams to use when communicating to the customers we all serve.
