2oz Rye whiskey ½ ounce Punt e Mes or other sweet vermouth ¼ to ½ ounce maraschino liqueur.
Pour ingredients into a shaker or pitcher adding a 3-4 big ice cubes, or handful of crushed ice. Stir vigorously and consistently until well chilled (about 30-45 sec). Strain into a chilled cocktail glass (add an orange twist as garnish).
